I wonder if some people would consider this as hurting them. If you’ve got a decent reader base, are you going to risk losing them if you tell them where to go for the source? Obviously, there would still be people that are interested in your take on things, or that don’t have the time Scoble does to read hundreds of feeds. I don’t know if people would actually think this or not, I’m just thinking “out loud.” With today’s open-minded, sharing culture, though, I’d be surprised if this was really the case.

I think you’re probably right. I think, to some extent, a media commentator’s reading list is what gives him/her their competitive advantage, and so I can see some resistance to openness in this regard.
